About me and my therapy practice
Want to feel like your normal self again? Sometimes a listening ear and understanding is what you need. I am here to offer you my time, respect and acceptance.
I use an integrative approach - tailoring the therapy to my client's needs, and not the client to one specific approach.
I am fully qualified and experienced in both short-term and long-term face-to-face therapy.
I also offer telephone and online counselling (via Skype/Facetime) to those who may feel uncomfortable with the idea of face to face therapy.
I create a good therapeutic relationship with each client, normalising individuality in a comfortable space. I work in a completely confidential, non-judgemental, fair and equal manner.
The foundation of my approach is humanistic, with the purpose of increasing the client's feelings of self-worth, reducing the level of incongruence between their ideal and actual self.
I apply three basic principles in every session with my clients:
Congruence - genuineness
Unconditional positive regard - accepting the client as a whole
Empathy - understanding the client from their frame of reference
