About me and my therapy practice
You may be here because you’ve experienced difficult, upsetting or traumatic life events. Whatever the reason, some experiences can leave us feeling anxious, depressed, guilty, ashamed, sad, confused, angry or low in self-esteem.
Or perhaps you feel low and out of sorts and you don’t quite know why. Sometimes, it can be really difficult to navigate life's obstacles on your own.
Whatever you’re going through, know that you’re not alone. I will provide you with a safe and supportive space where you can explore your feelings and develop coping strategies to help you move forward.
During our sessions, we'll work together to get a better understanding of the issues that you're facing so you can develop your own solutions to help you overcome your difficulties. Through our conversations, I’ll help you gain insight into how you relate to others, your patterns of behaviour and how you see yourself in the world.
I am an experienced and qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. As a member, I am bound by and adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
I work with both adults and young people aged 18 and up. I offer face to face counselling from my tranquil studio overlooking the South Downs, which is a 15 minute walk from the centre of Winchester. I also offer online sessions from the comfort of your home. Depending on your needs, I offer both short and long-term counselling.
I have experience in helping clients with anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, self harm, emotional eating, relationship difficulties, workplace issues, redundancy, parenting and many other issues. One of my areas of expertise is in supporting people who have experienced abuse and trauma.
Alongside my private practice, I work for an organisation offering counselling to individuals who have experienced sexual abuse and trauma. I have also worked for a charity offering free counselling to women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse, as well as a charity offering free counselling to young people aged 16-24.
I use a variety of counselling approaches and it’s important to me that I provide you with the support that is right for you and that you feel heard. At the heart of my practice is a person-centred approach, meaning that our sessions are led by you and that I will support you in realising your full potential.
During our sessions, we'll work together to help you get a better understanding of the issues that you're facing so that you can develop your own solutions to the difficulties you're facing.
