About me and my therapy practice

I am able to provide a confidential and non - judgemental space. I have my own private room in Hastings Town Centre, where I work from. My aim is to establish a working relationship where you feel listened to and are able to work through your reasons for seeking counselling.

Counselling gives us the opportunity to talk about ourselves. This can help us understand what we are going through and can help to validate our experiences. Through talking about ourselves we can connect to our feelings and thoughts, helping to understand them better.

I am trained counsellor in Transactional Analysis. I provide a space for reflection; This can help us to understand what is going on in our lives and help to improve our emotional health and overall wellbeing. My practice is trauma informed, I use various techniques to help with symptoms of anxiety such as breathing and relaxation exercises.

The counselling process can help us to identify changes we wish to make and how to go about implementing them. There may be times where we self-sabotage or feel stuck; these sessions can help to work though these challenges.

I am currently working toward UKCP registration in Integrative Psychotherapy.

Practice description

Individual counselling

I offer 50 minute sessions for individuals, usually on a weekly basis. Sessions are based on need and reviewed regularly. The  initial assessment session allows us to meet and get a feel for working together. Here, we can talk about your reasons for seeking counselling and we can decide what is appropriate going forward. I can answer any questions you may have, with sessions paced to your individual need.

Couple counselling

I offer 60 or 90 minute sessions for couples. Couple counselling can help to identify issues in a relationship and allows each individual to voice how they feel and what they would like to get from the sessions. Often couples who attend couples therapy experience a breakdown in communication, misunderstandings and arguments that can remain unresolved and a source of tension.

One of my aims is to offer an environment that is safe, confidential and fair so that each individual has time to express how they feel. I offer sessions for same sex couples and couples who may be neurodivergent. I have a good understanding of the unique challenges each couple face and how they can overcome them.

My practice

I am a registered counsellor with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and an accredited counsellor with the National Counselling and Psychotherapists Society (NCPS). I am in regular supervision with a UKCP registered psychotherapist. As part of my practice I uphold the ethical guidelines of my member organisations.

I have a variety of counselling experience in private practice as well as the volunteer sector. I have previously worked for Anxiety UK as an Approved Therapist. I have counselling experience in East Sussex NHS Perinatal Mental Health Service.
