About me and my therapy practice
I am a person-centred counsellor offering both short and long-term counselling to adults and young people. My aim is to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental and supportive space for us to explore your issues and concerns together.
I have a BA(Hons) in Person-Centred Counselling from the Metanoia Institute (awarded by Middlesex University) and a Post-graduate Conversion Diploma in Adolescent and Schools Counselling.
I have many years experience working in a school setting, supporting young people with issues such as self-harm, anxiety and depression and feel that my work in schools has given me an insight into the pressures and stress young people may face in life. I aim to offer young people a safe, confidential and holding space in which to explore their issues.
As well as my private practice I currently work for a hospice charity, offering counselling for bereavement and support during illness, and have also worked for my local Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Centre and the Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service.
I believe that no issue is too big, or too small for us to talk about and that together we can create a space for you to feel heard and understood.
As a member of the BACP, I ensure that I have regular supervision, training and support from my colleagues so that you can feel confident in our work together.
My private practice is located near Junction 20 of the M25 in Hertfordshire, in a grade 2 listed building. There is a cafe and free parking on site.
I am also qualified to offer online and telephone counselling.
My first session
Before our first session, I offer a 30-minute zoom/phone consultation for us to see whether we are the right fit for our work together.
In our first session, we will contract how we will work safely together and explore what you hope to gain from our therapeutic relationship.
