About me and my therapy practice

I believe in a respectful, collaborative relationship which focuses on your individual history, context, personality, and life situation in the here-and-now. Through empathic listening, I aim to enable us to explore your patterns and concerns at a safe pace, and in depth. Through developing an open dialogue which explores how you developed to cope in the past, I will help you to build a more compassionate and insightful understanding and acceptance of yourself. My individualised approach trusts your inner capacity to grow and experience your life more fully.

We will explore ways to enable you to connect with your feelings, wishes and needs, and to discover your voice and strategies for managing your life in new ways that feel more empowered and meaningful for you.

Through my work as an honorary psychotherapist in the NHS and other settings, and through my life experience, I have in-depth experience of a wide variety of cultural and individual backgrounds. I am experienced with helping to creatively explore and understand your whole embodied experience; the feelings, thoughts, beliefs, actions, relating patterns, memories and expectations.

We will look at how we might review your survival strategies and equip you to develop more effective and personalised ways forward.

I am affirming of your need to explore your life as a wholly unique person. Relationships, self-esteem, LGBTQ+, sexuality, gender, attachment, life purpose, trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, home, work, loss, vulnerability, mindfulness and hope are some central issues and themes.

Entering therapy takes courage. I offer you a safe space where you can be open, feel cared for, and find a way towards the change or acceptance that you would like. This process can build confidence, resilience and help relationships with yourself and others. With joint commitment, we will develop ways to recover hope and creativity, and help you learn to develop reliable and realistic self-esteem.
