About me and my therapy practice

I offer integrative counselling and psychotherapy, which means I don't solely subscribe to a specific school of therapy and draw from different theories to support my clients.

My main influences include the person centred approach which was founded by Carl Rogers. Rogers believed that a person can reach their full potential and become their true self in the right conditions.

My practice is also informed by psychodynamic theory, which originates from psychoanalytical therapy developed by Sigmund Freud, which is helpful to unveil the unconscious processes of the psyche. I also describe my practice as trauma aware and deeply relational in nature.

I believe that you are the expert of your own life and that having a judgement-free and containing space can be a transformative experience, in which self- awareness and post traumatic growth will emerge.

You will also encounter a highly collaborative approach which means that our work together is reviewed and tweaked continuously. Therapy is an ongoing process and the approach will be adapted depending on your needs.

My first session

Finding a therapist who you feel comfortable with can be overwhelming. For that reason, I offer a 15 minute telephone call or a video call via Zoom or Google Meet, so you can see what it's like talking to me and ask me any questions you may have.

This call is free of charge and if you decide to book a first session, I will send you an agreement which outlines some information including payment and cancelation details.

Our first session together will be an opportunity for you to share what brings you to therapy and what you would like to focus on. We can talk about the agreement and I'll answer your questions.

We can also agree together how you would like to work, what your goals are and how long we will be working together. I'll be open to hear your expectations of therapy and we will review how you feel the therapy is going after an agreed number of sessions.

About me and my therapy practice

As an integrative psychotherapist, I use different tools to work with you according to your needs. I will encourage you to bring your own issues to each session and the counselling will be led by you. I will help you explore your views, behaviours, feelings and beliefs.

My therapeutic approach is also underpinned by encouraging a collaborative environment ensuring the therapy is frequently reviewed and adapted to your needs.

I share the belief that we have the answers we seek within ourselves and that being in a safe space to navigate our thoughts and feelings will help develop our self-awareness and self-compassion, leading to better mental health and a more fulfilling life.

I can help you navigate any unconscious patterns and bring to your attention what might not be obvious to you and could be affecting your life. I will support your journey of self-understanding by offering you compassionate listening and deep respect for the uniqueness of your human experience.

Practice description

I provide a culturally sensitive and intersectional approach to counselling. I have spent most of my life living in multicultural environments and I have lived experience of immigration, neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ issues.

Due to my expertise and professional affiliations, my practice attracts people who define themselves as women, but I also have vast experience working with those who identify as male.
