My working hours are Monday-Friday and I currently have some availability for new clients.
I primarily offer sessions remotely over Zoom. I do, however, also offer 'walk and talk' therapy and some in-person sessions in Wandsworth.
About me and my therapy practice
I work as an integrative counsellor which means I adapt my way of working to your therapeutic needs and what you hope to achieve from therapy, incorporating learnings from different therapeutic approaches. My core training, however, is in person-centred and psychodynamic therapy and these approaches will provide a foundation for the work we will do together.
A person-centered approach involves building a really trusting, secure relationship between us where we will explore some of the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing in the present. A psychodynamic approach considers ways past experiences may unconsciously be impacting your feelings and behaviour. I might notice body language or changes in our own relationship and bring your awareness to relational patterns that you exhibit.
There are times in every person's life when things feel overwhelming, hopeless or impossible and it can be difficult knowing what to do in these moments or where to turn to for support. In my work with clients I aim to create a safe space where you can express yourself without fear of judgement or rejection.
I use empathy to explore what is happening from your perspective to empower you to find the strength within yourself to make positive changes in your life. I am so grateful to work alongside people to help them see their own self worth and potential.
My first session
Our first session together will be a time where I learn a little more about you, what has brought you to seek therapy at this point in your life and what you hope to gain from our time together. It is also an opportunity for you to gain a bit more of an understanding about how I work so you can decide if this feels right for you and what you are looking for from counselling.
