About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome - events over the last year have almost certainly had a big impact on your life, whilst any issues that were around before the pandemic may still be around or even feel harder. The impact for me has been the change from working face-to-face to working online and by phone.
For you, grief and loss, anxiety and depression may feel overwhelming, nevermind health, relationship, child care, financial and employment issues; or maybe you have quietly enjoyed the lockdowns and feel anxious about re-engaging with the sort of life you led before.
Perhaps you are a key worker and need to process how the events of the last few months have affected you; or perhaps you have been taking stock of your life and decided that you need to do something differently in the future.
Maybe you feel you need some help right now or simply that now feels the right time to look for some support.
I can't wave a magic wand but, working collaboratively with you, I can help you to live your best life.
I saw my first counselling clients back in 2013 and have worked with people who are experiencing a wide variety of issues. Specialist areas for me are helping those with:
•stress and anxiety
•bereavement and loss
•low mood and depression
•attachment, relationship and family issues
•adverse childhood events
•the pressures of being a carer
So if you are looking for some support, do get in touch to see if, through the counselling process, you can move to a place where your life feels more comfortable - somewhere you really want to be.
(Please check your junk mail box for my reply if you email ...
... telephone enquiries are always very welcome too!)
As a humanistic and integrative counsellor, my work is client-led, individually tailored and holistic, whilst incorporating a number of theoretical approaches.
I will work alongside you to create a safe and confidential therapeutic space based on a compassionate, honest and non-judgemental professional relationship - so you can feel free to explore your concerns and start your process of self-discovery and change, with confidence.
My clients are of all ages, from 12 years upwards and I would welcome your enquiry, whoever you are and whatever your background.
I am experienced in working with a very wide variety of issues and have specialist training in working with trauma, bereavement and the use of creative arts in therapy.
I have worked as a counsellor with a fire fighters charity, a social housing provider, a bereavement counselling charity, a carer's support group and a family counselling organisation.
Before becoming a counsellor, I was a clinical physiologist in the NHS, specialising in cardiology. I am also qualified as a reflexologist.
(And I have three grown-up children and two dogs!)
