About me and my therapy practice

Hello and a warm welcome

I believe our emotional well-being is the key to living a fulfilling life and that we are beyond our struggles so that when life throws up its inevitable challenges, it is how we deal with these, there is always a way forward. My underpinning belief is that everyone can change and that our present day issues have origins in the past and so unravelling the threads of our mis-learning about ourselves and the world can help us to live more comfortably and happily in the present.

I offer a safe, confidential and compassionate space, where you can understand what is causing your suffering, accompanying you whilst you explore what it is that is holding you back, asking you questions and acting as a reflective mirror to what is going on within you. I listen deeply to you with the aim of understanding who you are, what you are experiencing and working with you towards your goals. As a person-centred counsellor, I am guided by you, by your feelings, by your words, and I hold the session so you are able to let go: we can find a way that is suited to you and your needs and that feels true to who you are as an individual.

I receive regular Supervision and Therapy and attend further training courses regularly to support you in your sessions.

Practice description

I run my practice weekly and consistently.  You will have your own regular slot.  I offer both online and in person.

I practice in person at the Rose and Crown Clinic on a Tuesday all day, and on a Wednesday morning.

My first session

In the first session, I will usually take an initial assessment.  This can help to ease you gently into sharing some information about yourself and helps to build a history of you and your life to date.  This can take up the whole session, you do not need to answer any questions that you do not wish to and there is an opportunity to ask me how I work and to outline your reasons for seeking therapy.
