About me and my therapy practice
I am a licenced Counsellor/psychotherapist, I work with individuals, adults, children, and young people. I work with a range of non-traditional system which has given me the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages on a variety of issues. This human experience has taught me on how to take a stance on non-judgement.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, warm, and strength base, while I believe that every person is the ultimately expert in themselves. I think therapy provides a powerful opportunity for partnership and guidance in a safe and non - judgemental space to explore elements of self, identify values and goals.
My goal as a therapist is to create that safe space with you to encourage you along your process of exploration. I believe therapy is a place to feel known heard and understood it is also a place to overcome painful experiences. It is likely that you and I can work together well if you are motivated to learn more about yourself and discover new behaviours and new thought patterns. It is important to remember that change is a journey and not a destination.
My clinical interest are traumas, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, low self-worth, women issues, men issues, mood disorders, relationship and marital concerns, addictions.
My mission is to leave a positive footprint on the world. I am committed to working deeply and gently with your life stories and issues while understanding the beauty and brokenness in your unique story. Whether you are struggling with short term or lifelong challenges we will find ways to address them. Each of us deserves to know what it feels like to be supported during life’s challenges and that is what I am offering to you.
Your struggles may be preventing you from achieving happiness peace and a sense of purpose, but healing and growth are possible. With warmth, compassion, a sense of humour, directness, and dedication I can help you the answers that lie within you.
Together we will work to get better understanding of yourself and your relationships. We build on your strength so you can learn to apply them towards healing, growth, and change. I strive to create an authentic welcoming atmosphere for my clients.
I believe the journey to embark on psychotherapy is a courageous one. Sometimes simply finding the hope that change is possible can feel nearly impossible, but I believe that change is possible for all of us when we are ready to take healthy risk. I meet people where they are and walk along side them to be where they want to be.
My first sessionIn my first session I offer a concession rate which will be agreed at first consultation. We will go through the contract. We will talk about why you are looking for a therapy, what you want to achieve from therapy and agreeing what you want from the therapist, and how we will work together, establishing whether we can begin to start building on a therapeutic relationship.
