About me and my therapy practice
Whether you've been struggling for a while, or if an unexpected life event has hit you hard, taking the time to talk, process and reflect can help with perspective, equipping you with the tools and mechanisms to make the changes that allow you to move forward.
All of us go through periods when things get on top of us, and our normal strategies for coping are not enough. It takes courage to seek help, but in doing so you are taking a first step towards change.
The last couple of years have been extraordinary on so many levels it's difficult to know where to start. Personal and relationship difficulties have been brought into sharp focus, amplified by the challenge of repeated restrictions and uncertainty about the future.
Our response is unique to us as an individual. We may feel anxious, angry or depressed. On a day-to-day basis we may push the feelings aside or become overwhelmed by their intensity. Often, we’ll adopt coping mechanisms, the most accessible being alcohol or avoidance.
Counselling is the alternative. My approach is to start with what is happening for you in the present and how this is impacting your life and relationships. We’ll look at healthier ways to manage, before considering the experiences which lie beneath.
I am working face-to-face and online from my home in Ewell. I work with individuals and couples/polyamorous relationships facing a range of problems, including psychosexual and relationship issues - conflict, infidelity, low desire, ED, porn and sex addiction.
As part of my ongoing professional development I am currently undergoing further, specialist training in psychosexual and relationship therapy.
My first session
Taking the first step is daunting and I like to make it as easy as possible for clients to reach out. I offer a free, no obligation 15-30min exploratory session to enable you to find out more, to ask questions, share concerns and establish how counselling may help. This can be F2F, on the phone, or online.
