About me and my therapy practice

Choosing a therapist can be confusing and probably a little overwhelming but it is important to choose the right therapist to help you to open up about your thoughts and feelings. I work collaboratively with my clients by providing a safe and confidential space for us to explore. I see you as an individual and acknowledge that each one of us has had unique life experiences.

As a Humanistic counsellor, I believe that you have the tools within yourself to make the changes you want and find the answers you are searching for. Your reasons for seeking professional support can be as diverse and unique as we each are.

In therapy, I offer you the space to develop a growing self-awareness to make sense of your past which can impact your present to make a more hopeful future.

In working with individuals or couples my approach is to focus on assisting you to find what is happening that is impacting the relationship. All relationships can face challenges, so I offer my clients the space to work together through these challenges to see problems in a new light.

Are you an individual trying to find your way to a better way of living?

Are you a couple that is moving in together or getting married and have fears and worries about this commitment or a couple experiencing conflict or trust issues, or perhaps concerns with family and parenting?

Therapy can be the space for you to work through things if communication has broken down, trust has been lost, or intimacy has become problematic, couples counselling can provide the space needed to get back to talking to each other again with empathy and care.

Practice description

In our sessions, it will be up to you to decide what you want to work on. This is the best way to find your solutions. I offer a space for individuals and couples to explore and reflect on patterns of behaviour which may be leaving them feeling stuck, frustrated, disappointed or unhappy.

I encourage clients to develop and sustain the ability to think about themselves and their relationships and to open up opportunities for communication.

I will help you notice patterns, and discover what you feel so that when you find the answers for yourself they will have more meaning. I will do this by offering respect, empathy and a safe non-judgmental space.

I abide by the BACP's ethical guidelines. My practice is fully covered by professional insurance and supervised by an experienced BACP supervisor.
