About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist and have been practising for almost 20 years.

I work with people on an individual basis either for short-term counselling, if you wish to address a specific concern, or longer-term therapy for more complicated problems which may involve looking back to earlier in your life. I will work with you to suit your needs so that you get what you want from the sessions.

I provide warmth, understanding and empathy and we can work together to explore what you are finding difficult and help you find better ways of managing your life. Being able to share your feelings in a safe and confidential space can be incredibly helpful.

Grief counselling is a particular specialisation of mine; grief is what we feel after experiencing any major loss whether it is following the death of someone significant to you, the ending of an important relationship or any other type of significant loss.

These experiences can bring up very powerful and often confusing feelings which can be totally overwhelming and difficult to understand on your own. I will support you to help you start to process your painful feelings so that you can become more at peace with your loss.

Practice description

I offer sessions online via Zoom.

Appointments are available during the day and early evenings.

Please either email me or ring me to discuss, in confidence, what you would like help with. If I am unable to answer the phone please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

My first session

Your first session is likely to be different from subsequent sessions as I will be asking you various questions so that I can find out a bit more about what has brought you to therapy and what you may be hoping to get from your sessions. I will also ask you about your personal history including your childhood and early life so that I can gain a fuller understanding of where you are now.

At the end of your initial session, we will hopefully have an idea of whether we are able to work together. If you would like time to think about it that is fine too.
