About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm May and I am a person-centred therapist and trauma-informed neuro-inclusive registered member of the BACP. I have a private practice in the centre of Manchester and offer face-to-face, telephone and online video sessions.

I work with a variety of clients and have seen an increase in my work with neurodivergent adults as well as supporting parents of neurodivergent children.

In addition to my private practice, I work at a charity in Altrincham, the Counselling and Family Centre which supports the community by providing counselling, training, support groups and community outreach.

Practice description

I am a compassionate non-judgemental therapist and believe that everyone deserves to feel happy and healthy. I am dedicated to helping my clients reach their full potential and live fulfilling lives. I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for my clients to do this work. I tailor my approach to each individual clients needs and goals.

Whilst I trained as a person-centred practitioner, I work at a relational depth which means that I will draw upon differing modalities to meet your individual needs. No-one knows your inner world better than you, it's about you finding your inner resources to enable you to achieve your potential.

Here are some things that I can offer my clients;

A safe and supportive place to explore your feelings, thoughts and experiences

Help in developing coping skills and strategies for managing difficult emotions

Support in making positive changes in your life

Confidentiality, respect and non-judgement

Neuro-inclusivity

My first session

The idea of starting therapy can be hard. To make this process as comfortable as possible we will have a free of charge initial call where you will have the opportunity to ask any questions about me or the counselling process and if you wish to proceed, we can arrange an initial assessment session at a time convenient to both of us.

Our initial session will be a 50-minute assessment in which we will discuss your needs and see if I am the right therapist for you.
