About me and my therapy practice
I have successfully empowered people for over 25 years. As a therapist I practice an empathetic integrative therapy drawn from different schools of psychological theory, such as cognitive, motivational & person-centred. I cater to my clients' individual needs, whether they be personal, work-related, or family-related. Through safe, nurturing processes; I work with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, dual diagnosis, alcoholism & addiction. My clinical experience includes work in both the public and private sectors in the United Kingdom and France. I have worked in crisis response & with community NHS mental health teams. I speak English & French.
I currently work exclusively online to support your therapeutic requirements within a private safe professional confidential space. I have an understanding, considerate & non judgmental disposition and offer an empathetic approach to your feelings and experiences.
Motivational Therapy can be a good place to begin your journey as we look for internal key motivational factors, Client Centred Therapy can emphasise your positive unconditional regard and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can discover connections between your thoughts, behaviour, and feelings. Also available to suit your specific needs are education based discussions focused on the areas you identify as important for your self development e.g. what is anxiety? is it friend or foe? why does it exist and important & interesting coping skills.
My first session
Firstly a warm welcome and with your agreement we begin with some *form filling; a Consent Form for therapy (you may wish to include a relative, friend or professional that you are happy to be contacted and the Therapist-Client Agreement. Next what has brought you to seek therapy? and would you like to discuss any specific symptoms? what would you like to change in your life? and what would you like to achieve during therapy?
With your agreement & when you feel comfortable we can look at your life to date, your childhood, education, relationships work, family, & friends as well as your current living situation, education and/or professional career.
Therapy is your safe place to have a look at parts of your life or yourself that you would like to change and develop and of course your aspirations and hopes for the future.
* You may choose to fill out forms before the first session. They can be password locked emailed or transferred online during the session. Password lock support available if needed.
