About me and my therapy practice
I'm a warm, empathetic therapist and I have a genuine interest and care for those who want to share and explore their personal experiences with me.
I believe we all need to feel seen, heard and understood. To be accepted and cared for while sharing sometimes difficult or unpleasant experiences can help to heal past traumas, or cope with current struggles. I try to understand your world as you see it and help you to find the solutions or resolutions you’re looking for without labelling or pushing you in a particular direction.
People come to therapy for many different reasons but often they are dissatisfied, uncomfortable or distressed by aspects of their life and are seeking some kind of change. My experience of therapy is that it can help to increase self- awareness, self-acceptance and help to set healthy boundaries in order to feel more in control, and live in a more fulfilling way.
While the Person Centred approach is my foundation, I also draw on other concepts such as Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory and more to make sense of, and create a language for what might be going on for you. This means I may introduce different ideas if they feel useful for you but this is always tailored to fit you, rather than trying to fit you to a particular theory. I am also a trauma informed therapist and understand the effect trauma has on the nervous system. I believe a holistic approach of working with awareness of both the mind and body is most helpful in this area.
I'm currently working online over Google Meet. I offer individual therapy sessions at a rate of £60 per hour and couples therapy at a rate of £80 per hour. I work with adults on either a short or long term basis, depending on the client's needs.
My first session
For me, therapy is collaborative and my aim is to facilitate an open and honest relationship with all of my clients. In order to establish if we would potentially work well together, I offer a free initial chat.
