Therapist - Princes Risborough

Princes Risborough HP27
Sessions from £40.00

  • Flexible hours available

I work Monday to Thursday.

About me and my therapy practice

As a counsellor and a person I believe our emotions, behaviours, thoughts, bodies, spirits and relationships need to be in harmony and then we can live well and flourish.

I offer a warm welcome, a listening presence as you direct the sessions, to explore your present concerns on the backdrop of your past. I will often reflect and summarise what you have shared, offer occasional interpretation and challenge, all with your very best interests at heart. Should I see a benefit, I may offer thought or behavioural exercises, psycho-education or a creative intervention to support your growing awareness and movement towards your chosen outcome.

As we tend not to bring what is happy, what is easy to counselling, it is worth bearing in mind that the journey can be difficult and upsetting but it is worth persevering to grow in self-awareness, the starting place of change.

Practice description

I offer face to face, video, audio and email counselling.

If face to face is your preference we can meet at my counselling room in central Princes Risborough, Bucks. I access video and audio counselling via the secure Zoom platform , though I am happy to use the telephone if that is your preference. To explore using email counselling, I will email you using proton mail a secure email provider in Switzerland. At present I am offering a half price initial assessment session. During which, I can find out a little about you, assess risk, ascertain if I have the skills to support you, while you can ask any questions of me and the counselling I provide. Should we both feel satisfied we are a ‘good fit' we can progress to our next session.

My first session

During the initial session we will review the counselling agreement, privacy statement and complete a short wellbeing evaluation. We can then chat through some initial background questions that can give me a more holistic picture of you, explore what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to achieve.

The first session is a little different in that, as we chat I will make notes, with subsequent sessions a short factual record is made following the session.
