About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Kerry
I'm a Qualified Coach-Therapist, this means I can offer you something a bit different from traditional therapy.
The benefit in this approach to therapy is that I can draw on a wide range of approaches that I have been trained in, then tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs.
We can work togther in a future orientated way focusing on your goals in both your personal and professional life. When needed we can pause and work therapeutically to overcome any obstacles in the present or from the past that may be preventing you from reaching your goals.
I work with a wide range of clients, however, within my practice I have chosen to specialise in strengthening family relationships . This means I am able to support parents/carers in a unique way, exploring ways to manage their mental health and well-being taking the families needs into account and reducing any impact on children or the wider family.
If either the Coach-Tharapy, or focusing on family relationships appeals to you, give me a call or drop me an email.
I offer an initial 30min consultation at a cost of £30 to discuss options.
Practice description
Drawing on my own personal experiences of counselling and coaching I believe focusing on just one or the other often isn't enough for many clients. As a Coach-Therapist I am able to meet the needs of a wider range of clients.
I have been trained in, and practice the Personal Consultancy Model. Practioners that use this model view the therapy element as strengthening the foundations of a house, whereas coaching is working on the house itself. Strengthening of the foundations can provide a more stable base to build upon, coaching is the work on the building itself.
There are four stages to the model. Initially I will just listen to fully and empathically understand your situation. Then we work together to recognise any underlying issues that may have led to your current circumstances. Moving forward, we will try different approaches and experiment with tools that could help you manage and move past any underlying issues. Finally, I will support you in continuing to use these new approaches and tools to increase confidence allowing to you to move forward in your direction of choice.
The model works particularly well for parents. The framework allows for a wide range of approaches to be used by the Coach-Therapist to address the varied issues that can arise in the evolving parent-child relationship.
