About me and my therapy practice

I work relationally with each client. I feel the most important thing is for each client to feel safe and grounded with me. I specialise in trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, bereavement, sexual abuse, generalised anxiety disorders, panic attacks, low-self esteem, depression, stress, existential crisis, life transitions, sex and relationships, familial conflicts, eating disorders and personality disorders.

I adapt my practise to each individual's needs. I'm able to work through a short term solution focused modality or a more long term holistic practise by incorporating techniques like CBT, grounding exercises, creative therapy and DBT.

I also believe that stress takes a toll on the body physiology and can have lasting long-term negative impact. With a keen interest in the field of neuropsychology and prescribed drugs. I aim to help my clients gain some tools and knowledge on how to reset their bodies in order to feel more relaxed.

My work experience

As-well as having experience working with people of all ages. I have extensive experience working with young people. I am currently taking on ages 17 years +.

I have worked in therapeutic services both in educational settings such as schools and Universities and the council and have extensive experience working with a short term (a minimum of 6 sessions) and long-term (open-ended).

Through my work i have experience working with PTSD, anger, dissociative disorders, suicidal thoughts, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, sexual abuse, general anxiety disorder and depression, self harm, substance abuse, addiction, eating disorders, Trichotillomania, anger, bereavement, exam stress, loneliness and other related issues.

Practice description

I am the co-founder of The Kapok Therapy Clinic. Within my practice, I offer online, face-to-face, short-term and long-term therapy and I have had extensive training in all four of those areas.  I am currently offering £5 discount if you choose to have all sessions online and £5 concession for registered students.

If you would like face-to-face sessions I will be seeing clients at in a comfortable and confidential space in Ealing Broadway W5 or at my home in Northampton in Collingtree Park Golf Course set in a relaxing green space. Both my practices are cozy and ambient. I am practicing within the COVID-19 guidelines, keeping the space clean and safe for clients. If you choose to see me online. I have been trained to conduct these sessions ethically.

My first session

After a free 15-20 minute phone consultation. I will set up a session online/face to face. The first session is a 50 minute assessment which is a general conversation to find out more about you and what you feel you need help with. This will give me an idea of how i may be able to assist you. It will also give you a chance to see if you feel comfortable with working with me as i understand finding the right therapist who you find comfortable with working with is important, there is no obligation to continue therapy if you do not feel like i am the right fit for you.

By the end of the session we can both come to a decision on how many sessions you'd like to start off with.

I will also discuss terms of a confidentiality contract i will present you which will outline things like holiday, payment, what happens if i were to fall ill etc ...
