About me and my therapy practice
Hello and a warm welcome to you. I'm Kim, and I work online or face-to-face in central Brighton. I offer a space where you can pause and reflect on what matters to you, without fear of judgement or the need to be anything other than you are. You may wish to focus on a particular issue, such as anxiety, grief, low mood or relationships, or you may want to undergo a more general exploration of your inner world and the way you are living.
I have a deep respect for the complexity and unique experience of each person who comes to see me. My aim is to offer a collaborative relationship within which we can explore whatever you bring, at a pace that feels right for you.
Counselling is a fluid and lively process that can facilitate self-awareness and lasting change. If you can gain clarity about your experience of the world, this can help you come to terms with pain and difficulty, and to see where you may be making choices that are rooted in past strategies which no longer serve you. Counselling can also encourage a greater sense of freedom about who you are, and how you might live – in the now and in the future.
Sessions are held face-to-face in a calm and welcoming space in central Brighton, or online via Zoom. I offer short-term therapy (6 or 8 sessions) or open-ended, long-term therapy.
I am a qualified humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor. I also have specialist training in bereavement and loss. I am a long-time practitioner of meditation and can offer mindfulness techniques to clients who would like to explore this way of working.
My first session
You can arrange a free phone call so that you can get a sense of me and decide whether to book an initial session - just send me a message and we can find a time that suits.
The first session is offered at a reduced rate of £30 and lasts 50 minutes. We can meet face-to-face or via Zoom. This session gives us the chance to get to know each other a little. It will be a gentle exploration of what brings you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it. You are very welcome to ask me questions about the way I work.
Feel free to get in touch with me - I look forward to hearing from you.
