About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling overwhelmed or struggling with anxiety, depression or stress? Perhaps you are having difficulties with a partner or in other relationships? Or maybe you struggling with low self esteem or managing anger? I provide a safe, non judgemental space in which to explore these issues with the aim or gaining further self awareness  in order to help you help yourself.

I work with both adults and young people. I have previously worked as a counsellor in Secondary Schools, a Sixth Form College and for a Youth Counselling Charity and I have extensive experience working with children and young people on a range of issues such as anxiety, low mood, suicidal thoughts, stress, bullying, relationships, eating disorders, self harm, loss and bereavement.

Practice description

I work both short and longer term, depending on your needs and I am a registered member of the BACP and bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

My training is in Humanistic Counselling based on Transactional Analysis, a model of counselling which focuses on how we interact with others and how we see ourselves, others and the world around us. I will work collaboratively with you to explore how your previous experiences may impact your current patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour in order to help you develop self awareness and insight, so that you are in a position to help yourself and make positive changes. I am also trained specifically in counselling children and young people and I often work creatively with clients if they are comfortable with this approach. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

My Private Practice is located a 15 minute walk from Central Winchester and the the train station. There is free parking available on the drive way.

In addition to offering face to face counselling, I also offer zoom or telephone counselling to suit your needs.

My first session

In the first session we will talk in confidence about the issues you are facing  in order to gain an understanding of your needs and to provide an opportunity to meet me. There is no obligation to continue, but if you decide you would like to continue  to work with me, we will then arrange a time to meet weekly.
