About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited therapist with BACP and qualified as a person centred counsellor in 2008. I have also trained in Person Centred Counselling for Depression which is the NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence ) recommended model for working with depression.
Alongside my private practice I have also worked in the NHS for many years as a counsellor in GP surgeries and as a counsellor in secondary schools and have seen a range for clients from as young as 11 to 90 years .
I am registered as a recognised therapist for many EAP's and Insurance Companies for example Nuffield, Bupa, Aviva. (please contact me for further details as not all are listed here)
I can offer face to face or remote therapy sessions either by online platform or by telephone
I am also a qualified supervisor and offer supervision services or therapy at reduced rates for counsellors undergoing humanistic or person centred training (please contact me for further details)
My dedicated counselling room is located in Central Chichester with nearby parking and public transport links.
Practice description
I can offer you a safe, confidential non-judgemental calming space in which to explore and reflect upon the thoughts, feelings and beliefs raised by issues of events past or present that may be causing you distress.
This collaborative process of exploration and reflection can help you make sense of what you are experiencing and can be the key to enabling you to make meaningful and lasting change
My first session
The aim in our first session would be to explore your understanding of counselling and to look at how counselling may be able to help and what you hope to achieve from coming. This will form the basis of our ongoing work together.
This session would primarily involve gaining more information about you and in particular may involve exploring significant events or relationships
By the end of this session we should be able to form a basis for our work together and be able to decide how best to continue .
