About me and my therapy practice

I offer one-to-one counselling to adults and young people aged 16 and over. My aim is to provide a safe space where you can explore and make sense of your thoughts and feelings, without judgement. Key to this is developing a strong therapeutic relationship with you, based on mutual trust and respect.

My core training is in person-centred counselling and the values of empathy, unconditional acceptance and realness underpin all of my work. I follow a pluralistic approach, recognising that everyone is unique and may need a variety of supports, strategies or techniques to help them. With this in my I’ll work collaboratively with you, discussing with you what you’d like to gain from therapy and how we might best achieve this.

I have a Level 5 Diploma in Counselling (University of Cumbria), a Certificate in Online Counselling and continue to add to my training through continuous professional development covering a wide range of topics.

Practice description

I work indoors from therapy rooms at Bab'yama Wellness Hub in Berwick-upon-Tweed and from Broomhouse Farmhouse, TD15 2RN.

I offer outdoor therapy in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Coldstream and Kelso.

I also welcome enquiries from people who would prefer to access counselling exclusively through telephone or video call.

As well as my private practice I work part-time for Cygnus Support, a Northumberland-based charity offering counselling to anyone aged 14 and above residing in the county.

My first session

I offer a free telephone consultation of up to 30 minutes where we'll talk about why you'd like to access counselling support and I'll answer any questions you may have.

Coming for counselling is a big step to take and I will encourage you to take some time to think about whether or not you’re happy to work with me as your counsellor.

Should you decide that you want to go ahead then we’ll discuss whether you’d like face-to-face or online therapy and we'll book sessions accordingly.
