About me and my therapy practice

I work as a person-centred integrative counsellor and have specialist training in somatic trauma therapy and working with couples. This might sound daunting, but simply put, means that we work together using a combination of approaches. These might include understanding what is going on for you in the here-and-now, your past and how your emotions might be affecting you physically.

It may have been really difficult for you to get to this point, where you are now considering working with a counsellor

No doubt you will have seen lots of names, faces, approaches and techniques. That in itself can be quite overwhelming. It is important you find the right counsellor for you so feel free to talk to and meet with more than one counsellor before making your choice.

I work flexibly so am happy to fit around your schedule. We decide together how we will work; how often and for how long.

Practice description

Once you've decided counselling might be helpful for you and that I could be the right person to work with you, please call, message or email me (Contact Us) and I will arrange a conversation with you to introduce myself.

If you leave a message for me, please make it clear whether it is ok for me to ask for you if I call, leave a message for you or to email. You can suggest a time for me to contact you.

If you are enquiring about Couples or Relationship counselling, please include the other person where you can so that you can both experience the same journey.

My first session

If you would like to go ahead, we'll schedule a full introductory session. There is no charge for our first full session which will last up to an hour. We can meet in person (Bristol or Budleigh Salterton) or online.

We'll use this time for you to learn more about the counselling process, how it might support you and to answer any questions you might have. I'll talk about how I work and if you feel comfortable, we'll explore a little more about what's on you mind or what's going on for you.

Hopefully this will help you to decide whether to begin counselling with me.

After our session,  I will send you a copy of my Client Agreement which summarises some of the things we'll have talked about.
