About me and my therapy practice
- You don't have to do it alone
You may be feeling stuck, confused, questioning what is ‘wrong’ with you and unable to find a way forward. It is not always possible to turn to family or friends for support, where sometimes our difficulties involve these very people.
A little about me
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I run my private counselling practice and have continued some work with a counselling charity. I also have a psychology degree and am a qualified social worker, having worked in the social care field for several years.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and am a practitioner member of the United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis (UKATA), and as such am bound by their ethical frameworks for good practice.
A little about the way I work
I work with individuals over 18, offering short-term counselling to long-term psychotherapy. Counselling tends to be a shorter-term process that is focused on problem-solving around a specific issue. Psychotherapy is a longer-term process that involves in-depth work.
I commonly work with anxiety, depression, difficulties within relationships, loss, trauma, identity and cultural issues and life transitions.
I am currently working across two sites in the West Midlands, in Oldbury and Bromsgrove.
I offer a free half hour mutual assessment session over the telephone. This is to enable me to get a summary of your current difficulties and needs, and for you to get a sense of whether I am the sort of person you want to work with. Thereafter, my fees are £40 for a 1 hour session.
