I am moving from my current address, as soon as I have found a new home in North London, some time in the near future. I will continue to work online using VSee, which is like Zoom with my current clients and I hope to restart my practice as soon as I am settled.
About me and my therapy practice
At present I am only working online.
I am an accredited member of BACP, experienced in working with individual adults, students and teenagers. I offer counselling to people seeking help for a variety of reasons, such as depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, relationship difficulties, loneliness, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, child related issues, sexual identity, work pressures, etc.
I aim to work in a Person Centred way and strive to offer warmth, honesty and empathy. However, my training was integrative and I have undertaken further courses and workshops, which enables me to also offer various different approaches to meet a client's individual needs. I have also been trained to teach Mindfulness, which has been shown to help with anxiety and depression, as well as enhancing well-being.
I believe that everyone has it within them to grow and heal and the Person Centred approach, while not offering a 'quick fix' or instant solution, helps the client find their own way through problems.
It has been shown that talking through difficulties with someone trained to listen in a certain way, enables the client to grow and develop and lead a more satisfying and less troubled life. Sometimes one or two sessions may be enough for a particular client to gain relief. Other people find that six or twelve can aid enlightenment, fulfillment, growth and well-being. There are some clients who find themselves isolated and without a network of support and they might welcome a more long term approach, which I am happy to offer.
I charge £50 per session for individuals but offer a reduced rate of £40 for students, nurses working in IC and single parents on a low income. Sessions usually last for 50 minutes.
Practice description
I work as an individual practitioner in private practice in an office at my home. The office is on the ground floor and there is a toilet nearby.
I offer one-off sessions or planned short term work that might last for several weeks. As I expect to be moving to North London within the next few months, I cannot offer longterm work in the Morden area.
My first session
My first session focuses on some basic details about my new client, a contract and a look at what brings the client to me and what they would like to achieve.
I also explain a little about person centred therapy and the way we work together.
