About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited member of BACP, experienced in working with individual adults, students, couples, teenagers and children.   I offer counselling to people seeking help for a variety of reasons, such as depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, relationship difficulties, loneliness, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, child related issues, sexual identity, work pressures, etc.

I aim to work in a Person Centred way and strive to offer warmth, honesty and empathy.  However, my training was integrative and I have undertaken further courses and workshops, which enables me to also offer various different approaches to meet a client's individual needs.  I have also been trained to teach Mindfulness, which has been shown to help with anxiety and depression, as well as enhancing wellbeing.

I believe that everyone has it within them to grow and heal and the Person Centred approach, while not offering a 'quick fix' or instant solution, helps the client find their own way through problems.

It has been shown that talking through difficulties with someone trained to listen in a certain way, enables the client to grow and develop and lead a more satisfying and less troubled life. Sometimes one or two sessions may be enough for a particular client to gain relief. Other people find that six or twelve can aid enlightenment, fulfillment, growth and well-being. There are some clients who find themselves isolated and without a network of support and they might welcome a more long term approach, which I am happy to offer.

I charge £40 per session for individuals but offer a reduced rate of £30 for students and single parents on a low income.  I charge couples £60 for a session that lasts one and a half hours.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited member of BACP. I offer counselling to people seeking help for a variety of reasons, such as depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, relationship difficulties, loneliness, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, child related issues, sexual identity, work pressures, etc.

My work is based on the Person Centred Therapy of Carl Rogers, who believed that therapists need to offer warmth, honesty and empathy.  My training was integrative, which means that I can also offer various different approaches to meet a client's individual needs.  Also I have been trained to teach Mindfulness, which has been shown to help with anxiety and prevent recurring bouts of depression.

I believed that everyone has it within them to grow and heal and the Person Centred therapist, while not offering a quick fix or instant solutions, helps the client find their own way through problems.

It has been shown that talking through difficulties with someone trained to listen in a certain way, enables the client to grow and develop and lead a more satisfying and less troubled life. It is as if the client is on a journey without a map but accompanied by someone who, while not knowing the path that the client wishes follow, has themselves 'traveled'  extensively.

Sometimes one or two sessions may be enough for a client to gain relief. More often something like six to twelve can aid enlightenment, fulfillment and growth and well-being.
