About me and my therapy practice
If you are looking for a therapist, you are probably already on the cusp of something.
I began my training as a Person-Centred Therapist in 2014 and I am currently in advanced clinical training with the Gestalt Institute in Edinburgh, and working towards UKCP accreditation in Psychotherapy.
I believe that we are all continually changing and doing the best we can to survive, but often we can feel stuck in old patterns that are of no use to us now.
We can be too hard on ourselves or become stuck in vicious circles. Sometimes we just need someone who we can trust to take us seriously.
My training in Gestalt Psychotherapy and my own therapy has allowed me to open up a deeper curiosity into myself which I believe supports my ability to empathise with others’ difficulties, be that depression, anxiety, life changes or loss.
I work in a way that hopes to support others positively.
I will work alongside you so that we can both become interested in who YOU are, and develop your awareness of how you interact with yourself and with others. I find hope in an open mind.
And, once we have a better awareness of how and who we are in the world we have the potential to make better choices.
I believe in spontaneity and creativity in the therapy room and I bring myself as my main tool.
I think it can be really hard to make a decision on choosing the right therapist, so I offer an initial telephone consultation to help you make that decision.
Please get in touch if you would like to talk more.
