About me and my therapy practice

Life can present difficulties and challenges that are overwhelming to navigate alone. Talking to someone who is really listening and can offer empathic and objective support can enable exploration into issues that are impacting your life to help you find a way forward.

I am a registered MBACP, with a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative-Relational Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Middlesex University) currently working in private practice and the NHS. I offer a warm, caring and respectful approach to support a client/therapist relationship where you feel safe to talk in a confidential space.

Some of the issues I have worked with include anxiety, depression, grief, abuse, anger, health-issues, menopause, OCD, redundancy, self-harm, work burn-out, body image, intrusive thoughts, low self-esteem, transition into parenthood, trauma, life crises and relationship difficulties. This is not an exclusive list, do get in touch if there is something not mentioned here that you would like help with.

Practice description

I believe that we are impacted by our past and present experiences which can affect how we think and feel now. As an Integrative-Relational Therapist, I draw on a range of psychological theories to find the right approach for you. Together we will explore your current and past experiences. This will help you gain insights into ingrained and unique behaviours that may not be helpful to your current relationships and situation. Self-awareness can enable choice which helps us feel stronger and gain more self-esteem.

We will sit in a comfortable, private consulting room and we will talk. Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly over a short period or in the longer term. Your choice between short-term or long-term therapy will be informed by what you want to address and depends on your current difficulties and concerns. Once the sessions are underway, we will have regular reviews to ensure you are getting the most from your therapy.

I offer a brief introductory call during which we can discuss availability and answer any questions.

I work in a therapy room in Esher KT10.  Free parking is available nearby.

I also offer online sessions via zoom.

My first session

Our first session will cover an initial assessment, where we will explore your expectations and needs. This is an opportunity for us to see how we will work together and if I am the right therapist for you. After this, we can commit to a further 6-12 sessions if you have a specific issue you want to work on, or longer open-ended work if appropriate.

My fee is £60 per session. I charge the same amount for assessments and cancellations. I offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for certain circumstances from £50 - please contact me for availability.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent the first ten years of my career in the corporate world.  My experiences in this 'cut and thrust' environment made me aware of the stresses and pressures involved and how supportive a compassionate approach is. Another aspect of my life has involved raising a family. This has given me understanding in the shifting demands and changes that brings, whilst managing everyday issues, care and self-care, work, relationships and family dynamics.

Some of the issues I have worked with include anxiety, depression, grief, abuse, anger, health issues, menopause, OCD, redundancy, self-harm, work burn-out, body image, intrusive thoughts, low self-esteem, transition into parenthood, trauma, life crises and relationship difficulties.
