About me and my therapy practice

Information about me

My name is Tracey Riggott and I welcome you to Self Perception Therapies. I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have 13 years of experience in offering one to one counselling for adults. 

Information for you

This is a time for you. You may want to reflect upon your relationship with yourself, your relationships with others. You may, for example, be feeling isolated, anxious, stuck or overwhelmed. No matter what challenges you are facing and experiencing, therapy is a time for you, for you to be listened to, to be heard, you do not have to do this on your own. 

Information about the therapy I provide

I am a caring and approachable person, I enjoy my work and want to support you, for you to gain confidence in yourself. I facilitate and provide an accepting, non-judgemental, safe, and confidential space. A space and a time where you can really talk and work at your own pace in exploring and reflecting upon what you are experiencing from your past, or the present. I will work with you to address your needs. Through my years of continual learning and training I can fetch other elements of counselling approaches in to our therapy together, if required and appropriate. I will support you in gaining a greater understanding of yourself, for you to improve your quality of life and make your own decisions in moving forwards. You have taken the first step in looking at my page for support. 

How I provide therapy

I offer counselling on a one-to-one basis, either face to face, over the telephone, or via an online video platform (Zoom). It depends on your preferences and your circumstances such as physical or psychological needs, your location, time limitations as to which would suit your needs best in being able to access therapy.

Practice description

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, working with individuals in a friendly and safe space. You are given the time to work at your pace, to explore and reflect upon issues and experiences that you wish to address in therapy. Issues impacting on your wellbeing can be from the past or the present. I do not give advice, or tell you what to do, nor do I diagnose. I am here to support you in making your own decisions and conclusions that will assist you in moving forwards in your life. My counselling is focussed around the needs of you. Through my years of ongoing learning and training, I can fetch other elements of counselling approaches in to our work together if it is appropriate to what you need, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and solution focussed therapy.

My first session

If you feel you may be interested in working with me and feel ready to take the next step in accessing support please get in touch. We can then arrange a free 20-minute consultation to discuss any questions, concerns, or uncertainties that you may have, and what you hope to achieve through accessing therapy. 

Following on from the free consultation, if you decide you would like to work with me, we can arrange a first session which will be 60 minutes long, delivered via your preferred method of contact. 

There is no commitment to continue with therapy if you feel this is not right for you.
