About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced integrative psychotherapist combining person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. I adapt the therapy for every client, tailored to their individual needs and considering supporting strategies.
I am passionate about mental and emotional wellbeing. We all have mental health and need to look after it, just like we do our physical health. Counselling is one way of doing so, putting time aside to concentrate on yourself. Counselling can help to understand and make sense of self which will lead to a more fulfilling life. I recognise how much courage it can take to reach out for support.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which means I meet their professional standards and work to their code of ethics. I engage in regular clinical supervision and personal development.
I have experience of working therapeutically with adults and young adults in organisations and in private practice, and I have experience and knowledge of working as a Social Care Practitioner with adults with a range of learning disabilities, ASD and mental health, emotional health and stability of wellbeing.
I offer both short term therapy, focussing more on present day issues and challenges, as well as longer term therapy, dependent of the individual need of the client.
It is important to me to be with my clients by their side, working together on their journey of self-exploration, which can result in a renewed sense of self-believe and growth.
My approach is genuine, supportive, and respectful offering you a confidential, safe, and non-judgemental space for you to reflect and explore your thoughts and feelings, address life challenges and improve your wellbeing.
My first session
Initially we can arrange an appropriate time for us both to have chat on the telephone and talk about what is bothering you, this would be an initial assessment and they’ll be no cost. This will be for no longer than 20 minutes.
Sessions thereafter can be arranged. Counselling sessions are 50 minutes.
