About me and my therapy practice

"Hello and Welcome, my name is Geeta "

I work with a wide range of issues, including difficult childhood experiences, low confidence/ self esteem, anxiety, stress-related physical symptoms, menopause, aging, work, family or relationship concerns, neurodivergence and general emotional distress. I also have a special interest in issues related to race, identity, and belonging.

I offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy on a short-term or open-ended basis. I have experience working with patient concerns in therapeutic settings, including NHS, private and third-sector care services. My areas of expertise include treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and perinatal and reproductive challenges.

I also have extensive experience supporting individuals who find it difficult to form or sustain intimate relationships. My role is to listen attentively and help you reflect on emotional wounds—often shaped by early experiences, that may continue to influence you today. Together, we work towards healing, insight, and reducing the distress. I take a culturally sensitive, inclusive approach and welcome individuals of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.

My clients often describe me as warm, kind, and approachable.

Whatever the nature or extent of your difficulties, I offer a secure, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore your concerns openly and without any judgment.

Practice description

Sometimes life can hurl challenges our way that can leave us feeling drained, confused or disconnected. At other times, our thoughts and emotions may feel disproportionate to the events that triggered them, or seem to arise without any clear cause.

Psychotherapy is a space to explore how you think, feel, and relate to others. It helps you understand the patterns that may be holding you back and supports you in moving toward what you would like to achieve. At its core it’s about recognising that the change you seek already exists within you; rooted in a deeper, enduring part of yourself. I primarily work with a psychodynamic approach, which explores both conscious and unconscious aspects of feelings and behaviour. This approach helps us understand ourselves and others by linking past experiences with present thoughts and emotions, and can help us in resolving what may be troubling or disturbing us.

My first session

The first consultation is an opportunity to for you to discuss your needs and for us to get to know each other better. It lasts approximately fifty minutes. If we decide to work together, we shall arrange a regular day and time each week for our sessions.

I understand that finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming  and there’s no pressure to commit immediately.

We can arrange an informal phone chat to see how we bond, where you can freely share your concerns, needs, and any questions you may have.

Please do get in touch - I would be delighted to hear from you.
