About me and my therapy practice

When looking for a therapist you need to make sure you get the right one who meets your needs. You need to feel comfortable working together as well as having the confidence that your therapist is able to sufficiently hold whatever you bring to the sessions.

I have a background of working with families, groups and individuals in a wide range of caring & supporting roles for almost 30 years.

I describe myself as a collaborative relational psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor; as I believe that the relationship is the most important aspect to successful therapeutic work, and that working together as equals rather than as expert/patient is a far more productive, empowering & beneficial approach.

I practice integratively; drawing upon the most relevant psychological approach for each particular client to best meet their needs at any given time.

I am also trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). A remarkably effective therapy that is in very high demand, & which does inform a great deal of my current practice.

I have specialist training in sexual and domestic abuse, loss, bereavement and trauma. I am also trained to integrate coaching as well as mindfulness practice within my therapy if required.

I work with individuals, couples and young people; can take referrals from Insurance companies, EAP’S, various agencies and mental health teams as well as referrals and general enquiries from the general public.

I work face to face in my private practice rooms, am insured to visit a client at their home & I work online or via telephone & email.

I do offer a limited amount of concessions for trainee counsellors or those in receipt of certain benefits.

I am also able to offer appointments within 48 hours

(excluding weekends & bank holidays)

Practice description

My private practice rooms offer a safe space to explore, process and resolve the topics that have brought you into therapy. There is private parking & ground floor access which makes it easier for those with mobility issues.

There are also a wide range of materials for creative therapies available in these rooms.

We also offer remote sessions via telephone or online to clients world wide.

My first session

Finding the right therapist is the most important aspect for successful therapy even more so than the type of therapy used.

The initial consultation is an opportunity to get a feel for each other and to decide on the best type of therapy for your needs.

It is also a perfect opportunity to ask anything you are uncertain about, and to begin to think about and flesh out your goals and objectives for therapy.

This first session is without any obligation to commit to further sessions, and to make sure that you are happy to begin our journey together.

About me and my therapy practice

My Supervision Practice is an Integration of several different models; which include Hawkins & Shohet’s' 7 eyed model, Page & Woskets' Cyclical model, Inskipp and Proctors' functional model as well as Carrols' 7 generic tasks of supervision.

I describe myself as a collaborative relational supervisor, and believe we will get the best outcomes when we work together.

I work face to face, online, facilitate group supervision and offer supervision within organisations.

As an Integrative therapist myself, I am comfortable working with supervisees' from a wide range of theoretical backgrounds.

As well as specific training in Counselling & Psychotherapy Supervision, I have also received further Clinical Supervision training which enables me to offer supervision to different therapeutic groups.

This training is the only one approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS), and meets the standards required to confer eligibility to the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).

As well as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I am also a life coach and hypnotherapist. So I am also able to offer supervision to practitioners of these fields also.
