About me and my therapy practice

*Winner of Best Mental Health Counselling Service - South East England - 2023 - Global Health & Pharma Awards*

I specialise in:

- Anxiety disorders

- Depression

- ASD - Children and young adults

Mental and emotional health has been a huge part of my life for many years. Having been on the client-side of various therapy models myself in times gone by, I know just how important it is to find a therapist and way of working that truly suits you. At Solutions, I aim to promote wellbeing by facilitating change - according to your specific needs, by integrating two core types of therapy into our work.

I work in an integrated way with CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) skills and client-centred therapy. I find that by utilising both modalities, we can work together to provide you with practical coping strategies to help achieve and maintain a standard of wellness in the here-and-now, but we can also, if you wish, go beyond that to dig a little deeper, and perhaps find some answers to the ‘why?’ questions we so often have.

The relationship between client and therapist is an important one, and I believe in working collaboratively with all of my clients to ensure you can make the most out of every session. Together we will look at therapeutic goals and set flexible agendas for our time spent - but the most important factor of all is to work at your pace. You are the expert on you, I am simply here to guide and walk with you on this journey.

Practice description

*Now offering Zoom sessions*

Sessions are charged at £60 and are payable at each appointment. Sessions are offered face-to-face or over Zoom.

I have a limited number of low-cost counselling spaces available for those in receipt of state benefits or on low incomes. There is usually a wait-list for these appointments, so please get in touch for further information.

Block bookings also available for a discounted rate.

I have a cancellation policy of 48 hours - any appointments cancelled or missed within 48 hours will be charged in full.

My first session

Each session lasts for 50 minutes. Within each session we will set a loose agenda according to your overall goals for therapy, which can help to keep focus on the topics which are of most importance to you. Your first session will be a good opportunity to ask any questions and to set out some of your goals and wishes for our time spent together. Whilst CBT sessions are quite structured, as I work in an integrated way with traditional talking therapy - you will find there is more space for us to take time and explore within a session.
