About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative humanistic counsellor. I work with clients both short and long term working with different modalities to suit the client.
I believe in giving a client time and space to find a way through current difficulties , to reflect on the past and to work towards a positive future.
Most importantly I believe in the power of a therapeutic relationship to bring healing, growth and change.
My experience alongside that as a therapist is of working in mental health support in different services, as well as supporting people with learning disabilities.
I work both remotely and in person. When working in person I work from the Magnolia Therapy Centre in Sherwood, Nottingham.
I also offer both telephone and Zoom counselling when preferred.
My first session
I offer an initial assessment session which is free of charge. This will be a 30 minute appointment, either over phone or Zoom or in person. This is chance to chat and discuss what you want from therapy, what i am able to offer and to see if we would be able to work together.
Following on from that we would book a first full session, during that we would agree a contract, including discussing booking, payments and also take some basic information. From there we would begin working from wherever you are and looking at what brings you into the therapy room.
I do not have one set approach, I work in a flexible way to suit each client.
