About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Helen. I am a qualified counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP. I work with young people and adults in both short term and long term counselling, and offer a warm welcome and calm presence in comfortable surroundings to help put you at ease. I have a private practice in central Winchester and am currently working as a Counsellor at the University of Southampton. I have also worked as a Bereavement Counsellor at St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke, and an Associate Counsellor at Peter Symonds Sixth Form College, Winchester. It’s not always easy to talk to your partner, family or friends about your thoughts and feelings. You may be worried about the effect that sharing these would have on them - or they themselves may be part of the problem. I offer a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space where you can say how you really feel - and tell the situation as it really is. In a gently challenging but highly supportive and compassionate way, I can help you explore what is important to you and what changes you may like to make. Taking the first step in seeking help can be difficult, especially if you have never had counselling before. It is important to find the right counsellor for you – someone you can relate to, who you feel comfortable and safe talking to, who you trust and who understands you.
