About me and my therapy practice

My name is George, an experienced and qualified counsellor. I have been providing my counselling services for over 8 years, offering face to face counselling, telephone counselling and online counselling.

Alongside being a counsellor, I have worked within the mental health sector providing mental health & well-being support to the North Somerset Community.

The combination of both roles has allowed me to become aware of the network of support within the community of North Somerset and deepened my knowledge of mental health concerns and recovery. I believe that it has helped me to provide the best counselling experience I can for my clients, and hopefully you too if you decide to start counselling with me.

I have experience with a wide range of issues that bring people to counselling. Here is a list of common counselling areas I work with:

  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Anger Management
  • Bereavement and Loss
  • Job Concerns
  • Low confidence and esteem
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Understanding & expressing emotions
  • Stress (exams, home, work, new job etc...)

Practice description

I work from a purpose-built counselling cabin at my home address in Worle, which is in easy travelling distance from Weston-Super-Mare, Clevedon, Portishead and many other areas within and surrounding North Somerset.

I offer a humanistic counselling approach, where you are given the time and space to talk about whatever is currently on your mind for us to explore together; I believe this will encourage deeper self-awareness and clarity on your current issues, which will enable you to realise the steps needed to improve your current circumstances and become aware of how to better your life for the future.

I also integrate other therapeutic approaches into my work when a different counselling style may feel better suited to your needs. Every client I've worked with has brought something unique to them, which is why I approach counselling in this way.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an Accredited Member of The National Counselling Society (NCS). I follow their ethical code of practice to ensure my credibility as a professional.

My first session

The first thing that we will need to do together is arrange an initial consultation. The consultation gives us a chance to discuss your reasons for getting in contact, for you to ask any questions you may have prior to starting counselling, and to help you to make an informed decision about starting counselling before you have made a financial commitment. This can be done either over the phone at an agreed time between both of us, or in my counselling office in worle, weston super mare (north somerset).

The initial consultation is charged at £35
