About me and my therapy practice

My goal is to help my clients free themselves from the obstacles they feel are holding them back in life. I'm here to help when you feel you've hit a crunch point – stress, pressure, depression or something else is taking over. You feel stuck, or overwhelmed, and you’re not sure why, but you know life would be easier if you could sort this out. My aim is to help you develop the tools to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals.

I’m warm, friendly and non judgmental - I believe in the importance of building relationships with my clients. I’m an active therapist – I don’t believe clients should do all the work. I work collaboratively with my clients – you set the direction and the goals of therapy, and we work together towards achieving them. I won’t give you advice or tell you what to do, but I’ll think with you about how things link together to hopefully give you a fresh perspective, and help you work out some coping skills for when times are rough. I also work using a psychodynamic approach, which means we’ll look at your past and how that might be showing up in your day to day life.

Prior to training as a therapist I worked in finance in the City.

Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, The Minster Centre, London. Certificate in CBT Skills, WPF Therapy. BICA Foundation Course in Infertility Counselling.

Practice description

Whether you've hit a crisis point, have something that's been bothering you for a long time, or simply need someone to talk to, I offer a welcoming and confidential space – I won’t judge or advise, just support you in being yourself and achieving your goals. I have experience in a wide variety of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, issues relating to pregnancy & childbirth, family issues, self-esteem and more.

I know from my own experience that it can be easy to make excuses not to focus on ourselves. I’ll do it later. I don’t have time. My problems aren't so bad compared to others. I’d like to help you push past those feelings so you can make space for you.

Individual sessions are 50 minutes long, and we generally meet at the same time every week. Sessions are £70 per session. We can have a shorter, more focused set of sessions aimed at one specific issue, or take longer to give us a chance to fully explore something that's been bothering you for a long time. The work is open-ended - you're not committed to a set number of sessions, and we can decide together when it feels like the right time to end.

I believe change is always possible. If you’re feeling stuck and are looking for someone to help you work things out, text or email to schedule an initial 20 minute consultation. There is no fee for this session – it’s a chance for you to talk about what’s brought you to counselling, to ask me any questions you have, and to get a feel for whether I’m the right therapist for you.

My first session

In our introductory call, we'll talk about what's brought you to therapy, how many sessions you'd like (don't worry if you don't know - we can always adjust later on!), your goal for therapy and any questions you might have.  Our sessions are a place for you to bring whatever feels important; you'll lead, I'll listen, ask questions and hopefully help you find a fresh perspective on the things that are troubling you.
