Counselling can provide the opportunity to share your burdens with someone that is trained to listen and try to understand how life is for you right now and what may be causing you the problems you're experiencing. Then work with you to find a way forward.
It's about understanding, not judgement.
I am fully qualified and also offer Couples Counselling, Online Counselling and home visits. (When government guidelines allow)
My Online Counselling can make therapy more accessible to people with busy lives. It is also vital for those that struggle to leave the house or have anxiety around meeting new people.
Getting help in the form of counselling is a sign of strength. It shows that no matter how you may feel about yourself just now, you still have the ability to make positive changes in your life. For many people, talking to a counsellor is one of the best decisions they ever make.
Many people find that the only time they get to truly be themselves and speak freely is during therapy sessions. These sessions may take place in my discreet therapy room, in your own home or Online via video chat or telephone.

I would recommend that we have an initial 30 minute chat, free of charge, where you will be able to speak to me and I can explain how I work and give you the opportunity to gauge whether you feel I would be the right person to work with you.

I am happy to offer student counsellors their compulsory personal counselling for £20 per session
I am also ASIST trained in suicide risk awareness and prevention.

I believe that everyone has the solution to their problems but not everyone knows how to find those elusive answers. This confidence I have in each person I work with often translates into them believing more in themselve as they see things in their life begin to change, both psychologically and practically.
Couples that come to therapy often find new levels of honesty to move their relationship into a happier, healthier place. They identify areas where communication is breaking down and often develop a greater understanding of how life is for the other person

My first session
During our first session I will spend some time explaining how the counselling works, show you my credentials such as qualifications and insurance, and describe what our joint responsibilities are when it comes to getting the most out of your sessions.
I will explain about confidentiality and also how there are certain legal issues that could affect it.
I will also take some time to explain about the type of therapy we will be using.
After we have spent that first 5 minutes or so going over the basic administrative stuff you will be given the opportunity to speak about whatever it is that comes to mind for you.
I will not be directing you. The session is yours and you can use it how you think is best for you.
This concept of YOU steering the subjects you discuss will be carried forward to all future sessions. You will be very much in charge of our own destiny.
