About me and my therapy practice
With a holistic mind-body approach, I specialise in CPTSD, anxiety and depression. I help you to access your own strength and vulnerability as I work alongside you to feel that which needs to be felt and processed. I use a mixture of traditional talk therapy and somatic therapy, allowing you to connect with your mind-body and to regulate your nervous system. Thoughts are created in the mind and emotions are created and held in the body, so by connecting to your mind AND body you will be able to access, process and release past traumas and emotions allowing you to move forward in life with more self-compassion and resilience. We will work together to rewire the nervous system and limbic system for more safety, love and joy.
I will help you to regulate your nervous system to feel more connected and grounded, creating a sense of trust and compassion from within. In the session you will learn how to feel safe in the present moment and to build capacity to be with more painful and overwhelming thoughts, feelings and emotions. We will work together to retrain the way the mind interprets feelings and emotions, enabling you to feel less overwhelmed and more empowered. By connecting to yourself on a deeper level, you will be able to move forward in life with a more authentic understanding of your own wants, needs and desires. You will free up space and energy within yourself as you release old energy and emotions that have been suppressed out of survival, and move into a life that you can thrive in.
I suffered from my own trauma and abuse and personally experienced CPTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD and addiction, leading me to dedicate the past 10 years of my life to healing, self development and helping others to do the same. I will help you to somatically connect with yourself, listen to and communicate with your mind-body and build capacity within yourself and your nervous system to allow feelings, sensations and emotions to come up, and for us to be with them together.
As you feel safer and more regulated in your mind-body, you might naturally start to release emotions and survival/stress energy. I will talk with you and counsel you through your thoughts, feelings and core beliefs, and work with you to rewire stronger, healthier and more loving thought patterns and beliefs into your system.
I use techniques such as compassionate mindfulness, gentle breathwork, somatic touch and movement. I use traditional talk therapy, psychoanalysis, visualisations, affirmations, inner parts work, inner child and shadow work, somatic focussing and meditation, depending on each individual client's needs.
