About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Catherine. Seeking help can be daunting. You may be asking questions, for example: Do I need counselling? What can counselling do for me? How long will I have to have counselling for? Is this counsellor going to be right for me? Speaking to a prospective counsellor can be a good way to gauge if you feel they are someone you feel you could work with. Also, it can be a chance to ask any questions you have. I work in a person-centred way using listening and reflection to help you make sense of where certain thoughts, feelings and behaviours may stem from. Also, by asking the right questions in the right places, I can help you to explore why you behave, think and feel they way you do in your relationships, working, social and family life.
Practice description
Counselling sessions I can offer are online or telephone only at the moment. I ensure that I am in a quiet and confidential space to conduct sessions which are 50 minutes long. After our initial 15 minute chat/consultation, if you decide to go ahead and book a session we can discuss what your expectations are and what you would like to get from your sessions. There is no pressure to commit to long or short term therapy, this can be regularly reviewed to ensure you feel you are getting the best from your sessions.
My first session
I offer a free online or telephone consultation. This consultation session can be useful to help answer any questions you may have. Also, it is important that there is a connection and you feel at ease with your counsellor, therefore a short conversation might help determine if I am the right fit for you.
