About me and my therapy practice

Welcome. Often couples and individuals come into counselling to exploring a particular difficulty or to make a specific change in their lives, this can often result in feelings of anxiety, stress, and uncertainty. I offer an empathic, supportive, and accepting space. Working with individuals and couples I offer short-term and on-going support. My aim is to provide an inclusive space for all.

I work with many difficulties such as anxiety, trauma including PTSD, relationship problems, bullying, anger and menopause. I also offer bereavement support including pregnancy and baby loss. Please feel able to contact me to discuss other area's of support that I offer.

As an integral therapist, I use a range of therapeutic approaches to facilitate the work to meet the needs of the individual or couple.

As well as working in private practice I have worked as a counsellor for 17 years alongside organisations such as Mind, Victim Support, Women’s Aid, Bereavement services and private health companies. I also provide clinical supervision for counsellors and other professionals.

As a qualified member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), attending regular continued professional development is important to me and I keep myself updated with new theories and changes within the field. I follow BACP's ethical framework for working with clients and attend regular clinical supervision.

If you feel you would like to talk with me about seeking support, I offer a free initial 20 minute telephone consultation.

Practice description

I  provide online sessions for clients around the UK.

My first session

In the first session it is usual to gain some information around the difficulty an individual or couple are experiencing. I often ask questions around life history, how long the difficulty has been going on and explore any therapeutic goals you may have. This starts to building a picture of your difficulty and can be helpful in the planning of future sessions. The initial session is also to ask any questions you may have about the process and to help you decide if working together feels right for you.
