About me and my therapy practice

My experience comprehends several issues encompassing anxiety, depression, family issues, generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, addictions, panic attacks, phobias, eating disorders, trauma, psychosexual issues and relationship concerns. I also support my clients in career choices, life purpose and spirituality.

I studied at Psychosynthesis Trust and I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (PGDip) which is validated by the Middlesex University and accredited by both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I am passionate about working with women, people from cross cultural backgrounds and LGBT.

I also have a qualification as a yoga teacher in India and I am very interested in working with body related issues and to consider how we store emotions in different parts of our body.

Recently I have finished a Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training at the Sensorimotor Institute with Pat Ogden. Sensorimotor is a type of talk therapy that focuses on bringing awareness to the body, unlocking its wisdom.

In addition to my private practice I am a training assistant at the Psychosynthesis Trust, a renowned institution in London Bridge that trains counsellors and psychotherapists. I have volunteered at the Volunteer Hackney Centre visiting people suffering from isolation, as well as various physical and mental health issues, supporting them to meet their life goals and rebuild their independence, and at the Waterloo Community Counselling working with immigrants, focusing on cultural adjustment, abuse, self-esteem issues and anxiety. In 2021 I worked as a therapist for Solace Women Aid supporting women that went through domestic abuse.

Practice description

I work by thinking about the human being as a whole: body, emotions, feelings, thoughts, intuition, and all the ways human beings can express themselves in the world are welcome in the process.

That combined approach can offer insights for a life with more choices. In opposition to other models that mostly focus on the brain and on correcting behaviours, as an integrative therapist with a transpersonal lense, I believe that all uncomfortable feelings or mental health issues serve the function of a “wake up call”. There is something trying to emerge behind any mental health problem.

The transpersonal aspect brings a lot of compassion in order to understand where that client is in their life journey. I try to look at the person, and not the problem or the mental health label. The person and their journey are bigger than labels and problems.

I grew up in a small town in Brazil and moved to London in 2014. Both in Brazil and in London, I worked in the fast paced creative industry. I believe this gave me a deep understanding of human relationships.

I am passionate about working with women, people from cross cultural backgrounds and LGBT.
