About me and my therapy practice

If you are suffering the loss of a family member or loved one, a job, a home, I can support you through your sadness and confusion. If you are bewildered by life's twists and turns, and sense you are out of control, I can work with you to develop strategies, tools and techniques to put you back in charge.

If you are feeling at risk of abuse of self-harm, I can work with your trauma to help you find clarity and direction. If you are struggling with loneliness, anxiety or depression or grappling to balance your own needs with those of other, in relationships, work or family, I can support you to regulate your emotions and manage your behaviours. If you are lacking in confidence and self-worth, I can work with you to build self-awareness and respect.

Practice description

I have experience of redundancy and career change, separation and divorce, bereavement and suicide, dependency and personality disorders, pregnancy and menopause. I offer therapy to adults of all ages, from 19-90, and support for every life stage: from starting in work to retirement, from first love to becoming a parent or grandparent. Together we explore how developmental patterns learned in childhood have shaped the way you are today and test out ways to change them for the better.

With a multi-cultural outlook and global perspective, I feel I have lived, loved and lost enough to be open and receptive to human fragility. With over 25 years in corporate and public sector working environments before taking up psychotherapy I can relate to the stresses and strains of modern City living and the demands it makes on time, relationships and family.

My specialist training is in cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and art therapy (IATE). My professional qualification is in Integrated Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regents University, London.

My first session

If you are beginning in therapy, I recommend a 4-week induction at the end of which we choose a course of action which suits you best. If you are more familiar with therapy, I offer a free consultation to better understand your situation and create a way forward together. More important than what modality we use is how we feel in the room with each other, and whether we are comfortable and trusting in our working alliance.

I provide time-limited therapy (12, 16 or 24 weeks) and open-ended longer-term therapy, according to your needs, with weekly sessions of 50 minutes. While the pandemic is still with us, I work online, by Zoom, FaceTime, or WhatsApp. My fees are means-tested with a sliding scale from £140 to £40 according to your earnings.
