About me and my therapy practice

In fact, I'm not only a psychotherapist.  I am also trained coach and combine the benefits of both approaches to offer something a little bit different to traditional coaching or counselling: Coaching +. 

I bring together the future-orientated focus of coaching with the powerful psychological benefits of psychotherapy.   This means that together, we can tackle those long-held beliefs that may be preventing you from moving forward, remove that feeling of "stuckness" and ensure you achieve sustainable positive change

I work in a time-limited manner to support clients through key, and sometimes difficult moments in their professional or personal lives. This can include managing transitions; preparing for a promotion, making a career change, returning to work or support during the early months of a new role. Equally, it can encompass dealing with mental wellbeing challenges, including managing stress or coping with depression and anxiety.

Practice description

Based on both my own experiences and those of my clients, I firmly believe that one or the other of coaching and therapy, on their own, is often not enough. Hence Coaching +. Imagine building a house, without a solid foundation? Or establishing the foundations, but not getting around to constructing the house? This example best explains why I believe in the power of combining both approaches together: to create a solid foundation and then a build a sound-structured house on top.

I practice within the Personal Consultancy framework, which allows me to integrate a variety of counselling approaches with coaching. Together, we work through four stages (although sometimes, we may move backwards and forwards within the stages as new information emerges). The first stage is all about listening, allowing clients to be truly heard, as they share their story and explain what has brought them to seek help. We then examine and seek to understand some of the underlying issues which may have contributed to the situation. Then we move onto exploring and experimenting with solutions. And finally, we work to sustain the successful strategies, so you can feel confident in moving forward on your own.

Typically, we will move through these four stages in between 6 to 8 sessions, ensuring that sustainable changes emerge within a time-limited manner. I have consulting rooms in Market Harborough (LE16) and also conduct many sessions online via Zoom.

My first session

Whether we're meeting in person or online, our first session together is primarily about getting to know each other:   establishing a genuine and authentic connection is vital to the positive progress of our work.  

We will look at what has brought you to seek support and the changes you're hoping to achieve.  Since our work is time-limited, we want to make every session count, so the work begins straight away. 

I offer two alternative payment approaches:

  1. Pay as you go at £85 per 50 minute session
  2. Pre-paid bundle of 6 sessions at a discounted rate of £75 per session
