About me and my therapy practice

I'm a qualified counsellor (BACP Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling) and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) practitioner with many years’ experience offering emotional support to people of all ages and backgrounds with all sorts of worries and issues. As well as running my own private practice, I am a secondary school counsellor.

I'm also Community Bereavement Service support worker and a former funeral director so I'm experienced in dealing with grief and bereavement and helping people work through many different losses.

I've been a Samaritan for more than fourteen years and I'm a Festival Samaritan, so I'm practiced in offering an empathic listening ear and giving people the opportunity to really be heard.

In addition, I am a qualified mediator, trained to help separated or divorced couples with communication, child contact and finances. As part of this role, I work with children so their voice can be heard as part of the process.

I also co-ordinate and deliver a children's programme with the Silkworth Charity Group which supports children affected by addiction.

How does counselling work?

Counselling sessions offer you the space and time to be yourself, without judgement. They offer you the opportunity to talk confidentially about how you are feeling, to explore issues, worries and problems and to work on things you want to be different.

My role is to be alongside you to help you find your own answers and the way that seems best for you. I can support you with changing things and can offer various tools and techniques to help you beyond your counselling sessions.

Walking counselling & counselling in nature sessions

As well as sessions in the traditional counselling room setting, I also offer walking counselling and counselling in nature sessions. Walking and being outside with nature can help improve our mood giving additional benefits to counselling.
