About me and my therapy practice

Hi, if you are currently reading this my sense is that you may be overwhelmed by the vast number of therapists available on this website. I recall myself thinking how do I know which therapist to choose all those years ago when I began my own therapy journey. This also triggered my own thoughts as to why would someone want to choose me over another therapist, my thoughts left me thinking the following, I am unique and have my own ways of working and building trust and a safe therapeutic relationship with you and as long as you are willing to go on this journey then you will find the person best suited to you. I am a BACP registered Person Centered counsellor, which means in essence that I will always be led by what you want to bring to our sessions and I will hopefully encourage and enable you to explore and understand yourself and work towards self awareness and acceptance. I also do a lot of work around the inner child and my extensive experience of working with children, adolescents and young people has definitely helped this as well as my own therapy and training. I can offer you a safe space where hopefully you will feel heard, listened to, not judged and I will always offer my authentic self in every session. I hope you find what you are searching for and will end by sharing my most favorite phrase that one of my first tutors shared with me which is ''Trust the process''.

Practice description

Currently I am only offering ONLINE sessions. This will include an initial assessment and then should you choose to work with me I will spend the rest of the session going over our contract. I am flexible in terms of number of sessions. As I mentioned my training is in Person Centered Counselling but I do occasionally use a more integrative approach and tap into other models and approaches often dependent on the individual I am working with. I began my training working with Children in a primary school setting so used a lot of play therapy as well. It is important to add that I also have a lot of experience working with Neurodiversity. My experience and training has enabled me to work with a wide range of clients but more recently my experience has led to to work a lot with anxiety, depression, anger,  self harming, addictions, bereavement, suicidal ideation, gender dysphoria, eating disorders, trauma and domestic violence. I regularly attend training and CPD and believe I can never stop growing personally and professionally. I want to add here as well that I am always mindful that every person is a unique individual who tells their own story and no two sessions may be the same so again I will go with what you want to bring.

My first session

As mentioned above I will do an assessment in our initial session . I will then introduce the contract and go over my T&C's in that session too.
