"Empowering you to heal, thrive, and reclaim your story in the digital age"
Are you looking for a counsellor who truly sees your whole self—your strengths, struggles, and the systems that shape your life?
Welcome. My name is Syl Korsak (she/her), and I am an experienced liberation practitioner, integrated counsellor, and coach based in Bristol, offering support online, in person, in nature and VR.
Why Work With Me?
Integrated, Relational Therapy: I blend leading psychological approaches—including liberation psychologies, person-centred, psychodynamic, systemic, existential, positive psychology, and more—into a cohesive, client-led process. This means you receive a tailored, holistic experience designed to meet your needs.
Liberation-Focused, Anti-Oppressive Practice: My approach centres around your agency, safety, and empowerment. I am trained in both traditional and progressive therapies, with a strong commitment to anti-oppressive, inclusive practice. Your unique identity, lived experience, and preferences are always respected and privileged in our work together.
Specialist in Digital Wellbeing, Geek Therapies & Modern Challenges: As a founder of Voxel Hub and a certified Geek & Virtual Reality therapist, I offer unique expertise in digital wellbeing. I support clients facing digital fatigue, online abuse, technophobia, geek discrimination, AI distress and addictive online behaviours. I also help leaders, professionals, parents, and practitioners safely embrace opportunities in the digital age.
Trauma-Informed & Inclusive: I am experienced in supporting healing from trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, identity-based violence, addiction, grief, eco-distress, activist burnout, and experiences of oppression or discrimination. I work multiculturally with survivors of discrimination, neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients, and those navigating transitions or displacement.

My first session
The initial 30-minute online consultation is a complimentary, no-obligation opportunity for us to connect and explore how we might work together. This session is designed to be a welcoming, pressure-free space where your needs and preferences are at the centre.
During our consultation, we can discuss:
- Your Challenges and Goals: We’ll talk about what brings you to counselling or coaching, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve, so I can understand how best to support you.
- Getting to Know Each Other: You’ll have the chance to ask any questions about my approach, experience, or anything else on your mind. This is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether I am the right fit for you.
- Practical Details: We’ll review the practical aspects of working together, including session frequency and length, fees, cancellation policies, holidays, and any technical requirements for online sessions.
- Next Steps: If we decide to move forward, we can discuss a potential start date for your counselling or coaching sessions.
- Alternative Support: If, for any reason, we feel that another service or approach may better suit your needs, I am happy to offer guidance on alternative sources of support.
It’s completely normal to feel some nerves before your first session. I encourage you to bring any concerns or questions you may have—my aim is to create a supportive and understanding environment from the very beginning. If you decide that I am not the right fit, I will do my utmost to help you find the support that’s right for you elsewhere.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello. Welcome, and thank you for considering my support.
My name is Syl (Sylwia), and I am an experienced liberation practitioner offering integrated counselling and coaching for various life challenges.
Our life experiences, our social positioning and our current experience of the world can sometimes feel challenging. That's where counselling and coaching can help. Starting counselling or coaching can initially feel new, so my role is to create a calm space for you to feel comfortable, respected, and empowered to be your authentic self. Liberation work means I bring many psychological approaches (traditional and more progressive, too), all centred around your wellbeing, safety, choices and empowerment. Your comfort, psychological safety, and preferences are my priorities.
I am a qualified integrated counsellor and coach experienced in supporting people with the following challenges: self-esteem, low mood, anxiety, depression, bereavement, eco-anxiety, workplace and activist burnout, digital wellbeing challenges, technophobia, online abuse, sexual abuse, addictions, stigma, social exclusion and social isolation, identity-based violence and other forms of oppression or discrimination. I support people healing from complex grief, trauma, PTSD, addictive behaviours, and individual relationship challenges such as neglect and abuse (please note: I am not a couples therapist). I am an anti-oppressive practitioner trained with TADF.UK. Whether this is your first experience with this type of support or the next step on your healing journey, I will respect your preferences. As an inclusive practitioner, I respect all aspects of your identity.
Thank you for reading and taking this first step to seek support for your mental health and wellbeing.

Practice description
As a liberation practitioner, I am trained in many approaches to offer a way of working that empowers you and suits your needs. I can help you find the right therapeutic approach.
In our sessions, we can explore and make meaning from your experience of the world through a safe, trusted, non-judgmental conversation. We can create a calm, trusted space for your healing. We can identify the roots of your challenges and find ways to move forward. We can reflect on oppression and misuse of power in our lives and identify safe and sustainable ways to resist it. Together, we can identify opportunities for healing - some can be practical, and others may require deeper psychological exploration. Finally, we can also explore liberation towards a healthier, happier life. Additionally, I am passionate about good digital wellbeing and trauma recovery. I am a certified Virtual Reality counsellor and the founder of a digital wellbeing startup, Voxel Hub. I am a certified Geek Therapist.
I combine my experience in teaching, business, charity work, digital activism, and youth projects to offer an affirming view of good mental health in the digital age. I support people struggling with negative tech bias, technophobia, digital fatigue, online abuse, geek discrimination, and addictive online behaviours. I work with leaders, professionals, parents and mental health practitioners wishing to embrace digital age opportunities safely.
I worked for leading local and national counselling charities in one-to-one and group settings online, via telephone, in person and in Nature. I deliver CPD courses for Iron Mill College of Counselling in Exeter. I'm a member and follow the ethical guidelines of the BACP (counselling), Institute of Leadership and Management and EMMC Global (coaching). Like all ethical practitioners, I am in ongoing personal (liberation) therapy and have an experienced (somatic) supervisor.

My first session
The initial free 30-minute online consultation session offers a non-committal space for you to decide how we could work together.
We can discuss the following:
- your challenges, needs and preferences so that I can support you effectively,
- general get to know each other - you can explore if you want my support and ask me any questions,
- contract details - regularity, length, cost of sessions, cancellations, and holidays, technical requirements for online work,
- starting date of your counselling/coaching,
- ideas to seek support elsewhere, too, if we feel that is needed.
Please note: it is natural to experience a certain level of anxiety before this first session. I recommend joining and sharing your concerns so I can respond and provide support. However, if you feel that working with me is not the right fit, I will do my best to advise you on how to find more support elsewhere.
