Practice description
About Me and Counselling
I am Gestalt Counsellor, I have worked in a further education institution and currently a counsellor at an LGBT+ organisation offering 1:1 counselling in London. I freelance as an Associate Counsellor working for a psychology service, facilitating Reflective Practice group sessions for staff and volunteers within a variety of organisations. Also, offering 1:1 counselling for staff and delivering in-reach 1:1 counselling for clients who are and have experienced homelessness. I run my own private practice.
I bring creativity into my work as a counsellor to support people to raise their awareness, with an understanding due to barriers of language talking can become challenging, so I can provide a space to support other ways to find expression if needed.
I am a Buddhist, this I feel connects to my values and humanistic approach rooted within Gestalt Counselling, treating each person with respect, equality, being non judgemental and embracing. I believe everyone has the potential to change, to become their authentic self, if they choose to, this is at the heart of my counselling.
I am a registered member of the BACP, (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Profession. I have a Diploma in Gestalt Counselling, Graduate Certificate in Humanistic Counselling Skills, a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Mediation and a BA Honours in Drama, Film and Television.

What Happens Next
If you feel after reading this information you would like to make contact you can email or telephone.
I will arrange an initial meeting with you, this is ‘an assessment’, to get a clearer view of who you are and why you want to come to counselling. I will make this as relaxed as a possible, a few formal questions combined with informal discussion. It will help you to gain an understanding of how I work too. Here are a few things which may be covered:
- Clarity of what counselling is (if you have never attending counselling before)
- An understanding of why you are coming to counselling at this time
- Your brief history
- Your online safety
- Confidentiality
- How I work
You will also have a chance to speak freely in your own words too, ask questions and see if you feel comfortable working with me. After this if we both feel we can work together a time, day and date can be arranged to continue your counselling sessions and I will let you know what happens next. The Assessment session is £60.00 and lasts for 50minutes, there is no obligation to continue with counselling after the the assessment session if you do not feel too.
