About me and my therapy practice
I am a therapist very much rooted in what someone's experiences have meant to them; the ways in which they feel moulded by them (for better or worse) and the ways in which they might explore opportunities to release themselves from past constraints and transform in new and creative ways.
Practice description
I trained using a mixture of psychodynamic theory and techniques alongside an appreciation of the principles inherent in philosophy, cultural history, psychology and generally what it means to be a human living a human life. In my practice, I tend to use an integrative approach incorporating psychodynamic/psychoanalytic, CBT and trauma-informed orientations but always with a person-centred focus that foregrounds the individual and their life goals and desired outcomes for their therapy experience.
My first session
I always offer a free half hour initial session for the client and myself to see if we might be a good match to work together and if I have the right skill-set to help that particular client.

About me and my therapy practice
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and pluralistic. This means that, depending on each person’s situation, an experience of therapy is jointly created. The aim is to help the person get closer to their unique potential and desired life outcomes. This way of working is informed by humanistic principles and ideas from a broad range of philosophical and psychotherapeutic disciplines. These include psychodynamic theory and third wave cognitive-behavioural techniques that are adapted to meet the needs of each individual client. I also like to practice holistically incorporating how the body feels, breath work, energy levels, relaxation techniques and some meditative practices. Additionally, I am a firm believer in the power of connecting with nature in times of stress and there is also scope for "walking therapy" in outside spaces.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered psychotherapist who has been practising for over 20 years. I have extensive experience working with a broad range of clients privately and in the NHS and my therapeutic approach is collaborative and pluralistic. Depending on each client’s particular situation, an experience of therapy is jointly created that aims to help that person get closer to their unique potential and desired life outcomes. I adhere at all times to the codes of ethics laid out by my professional registration bodies: the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a BUPA registered practitioner.
