About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Ally (She/They). I'm a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist (PGDip) with a Masters in Gender, Sexuality, and Culture.
I have experience working with a diverse range of issues and identities. I offer clients a non-judgemental space to be their full selves and to explore the issues that are troubling them. I aim to help clients gain clarity and feel empowered to make positive changes in their own lives.
I offer a humanistic, Person-Centred approach, also integrating CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and other positive lifestyle interventions into our sessions when beneficial to do so. As part of my practice I offer a flexible approach to sessions to fit around your commitments, such as shortened sessions, and inclusive efforts for carers, parents, and people with specific needs.
Previous clients have described me as genuine, easy-going, and compassionate, stating that they could bring their whole self to sessions without fear of judgement, feeling safe to express anger, sadness, worry, and also bring their sense of humour to sessions.
I have special interest in Gender and sexuality, and issues facing LGBTQIA+ individuals. I have further special interest in working with issues impacting Women and people who Menstruate such as PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder), Premenstrual Syndrome & Emotional-Dysregulation.
